PATNA: Four Dalit men were shot dead at Gopalganj village in Bihar on Tuesday night for refusing to serve toddy. The bodies of Jagran Mushar, Hari Mushar, Avadh Mushar and Sudhu Mushar were recovered from a canal in the village.
The police said armed gangsters had kidnapped the men belonging to the Mushar community in Bihar from the neighbouring district of Siwan, brought them to Chagpao village in Gopalganj and shot them.
The two Muslim brothers Badku Mia and Chotku Mia were angry with the Dalits for refusing to climb a palm tree at night to serve their father fresh toddy. The police have sent the bodies for post-mortem. Just last week two tribal men were shot dead in Gopalganj.
